From 28 June 2024, the information shooting clubs must provide in their annual reports has changed.

Reporting requirements for shooting clubs

Shooting clubs only need to report on any changes to the club's officers since the club applied for approval or since the last annual report (whichever was later).

This means that if the club's officers haven't changed, then you only need to provide a statement confirming they haven't changed.

These new regulations mean all shooting clubs, except pistol shooting clubs, are no longer required to provide:

  • details of changes to the club’s constitution or rules
  • minutes of the club’s last AGM, and
  • if the club sells firearms and/or ammunition, it no longer needs to provide a financial report/reconciliation for this activity.

Reporting requirements for pistol shooting clubs

These new reporting requirements have not changed the annual reporting requirements for pistol shooting clubs.

This means pistol clubs are still required to:

  • provide an update on officers since the club applied for approval or since the last annual report (whichever was later), and
  • include a financial report if firearms and/or ammunition are sold on the club’s behalf.

If the club has not made any changes to its constitution or rules in the past year, then you only need to give a statement to that effect. Similarly, if it the club has not had any changes to its officers, you only give a statement to that effect.
